Kamate is a New York City native, perfecting makeup talent and skills since 2012. Her start in the creative field was fueled by her dreams of becoming the next Naomi Campbell-there is only one Miss Campbell so she took to the versatility of makeup like a fish to water and it’s transformative craftsmanship captivated her attention. The cashier position at MAC cosmetics at Herald Square set the ball rolling for Kamate.

Her humility and willingness to listen and learn landed her on photo sets with Sassy (VH1’s Black Ink Crew NYC), Rotimi (recording artist & actor), television pilots for Haitian recording artist and tv host Eline Fleury from Eline Fleury Show and lead makeup artist for MinaTVAfrica (The African Millenials and African Blogs Say). She also worked on tv host, Jamila Mustafa for BET Breaks, VH1 Love and Hip Hop NYC and Remy and Papoose: Meet the Mackies. Assisted on cover magazine work for Kontrol Magazine, New York Post (Lauren Renee Bennett), and beauty campaigns for flourishing small business companies such as CeeCee’s Closet NYC and CwenCo. She also participated in the F/W 2016 NYFW show for Pyer Moss, whose brand director appointed the notable Erykah Badu to style the models for his collection.
Although Kamate enjoys the opportunity to work on television sets and photo shoots, her true love for creating timeless makeup art is for anything bridal. “I love being apart of LOVE” she states, “The ability to participate in the joining of two people for a lifetime of happiness is truly a fulfilling feeling!”
