Haitian Labor Day Festival Is “Honoring The Legends”!

The festival will honor the living legends of our musical culture, veteran musicians who have achieved greatness in performing worldwide, to showcase Haitian music in all genres. Conceived by Urbain Richard as a way to recognize the important role and contributions these musicians have given to the world of Kompa. The Haitian Labor Day Festival will bring together the past and present, during this spectacular event on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park, East Meadows, New York.

Being honored are the Legendary Dieudone Larose, Dadou Pasquet, Michel Martelly, Robert Martino, Isnard Douby, Cinna Octavius Charles (Ti Blan), Jean Elie Telfort (Cubano), Toto Necessite and Georgy Metellus (Princess Georgy). The world of kompa is a rich place because of these incredible musicians, who played with such artistry and give so generously to their fellow musicians and music lovers around the globe. Venus International Productions wanted to recognize not only their contributions to music but pay tribute to their status as living legends for the art form. It will be a true privilege and honor to recognize them!
